Example shop: a small workshop that stitches ready-made shirts from cloth, buttons and thread, then sells them to shops. The owner wants to know what each batch really cost.
Do the Getting started steps first.
How do I add my raw materials and finished goods?
Add both as products under Manage → Products. For raw materials, set the unit you buy in (e.g. cloth by the Meter, buttons by the Piece). Buy them with a normal Purchase invoice so their stock and cost are recorded.
How do I set up a recipe for a product I make again and again?
- Open the menu, then Manage → Manufacturing Jobs → Add Job.
- Enter a Job Name (e.g. "Formal shirt") and choose Job Type: Recipe.
- Under Raw Material, add what one batch uses (e.g. 30 meters of cloth, 200 buttons).
- Under Finished Goods, add what one batch makes (e.g. 20 shirts).
- Save. For a one-time job, choose One-off instead.
How do I record a batch I just made?
- Open the job and tap Add Run. A recipe fills in the raw materials and finished goods for you. Change any numbers that were different this time.
- Add any extra costs for this batch, like stitching labour.
- Choose the Location and tap Save & Post Run.
Raw material stock goes down, finished goods stock goes up, and the screen shows the batch's Raw material total cost, Expense total cost and the value of the finished goods. Past batches are under Runs history.
How do I sell what I made?
Sell finished goods with a normal Sale Invoice. See the Wholesale shop guide for selling to shops on credit.
Is my business making money after material and labour?
Open Reports → Profit and Loss for the month's profit.
