Example shop: a general store with around 800 items. Most customers pay cash at the counter, a few regulars buy on credit, and the owner wants to know each evening how much was sold and what is running low.
Do the Getting started steps first.
Which features should a retail shop turn on?
Open the menu, then Settings → Configure Features.
| Feature | Setting | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Barcode / QR code | On | Scan items at the counter instead of searching. |
| Tax option | On only if you charge GST/VAT | Adds tax to invoices. |
| Negative Stock selling | On while you are still entering stock | Lets you sell an item before its stock is in the app. |
| Variants, Secondary Units | Off | Keep product forms short unless you need them. |
How do I add products with barcodes?
- Open Manage → Products → Add Product.
- Enter the name, purchase cost, sale price and today's stock.
- Tap Show more details. In Item Code, tap Scan Barcode and scan the barcode printed on the pack.
- If the item has no barcode, tap Generate Code to create one.
- Save. On a computer, a USB barcode scanner also works.
How do I make a quick counter sale?
- Tap Sale on the Dashboard.
- Leave the customer as a walk-in customer.
- Scan each item, or type the name. Change Qty if the customer buys more than one.
- Tick Fully paid and tap Save.
- Print the receipt on a thermal printer, or share it on WhatsApp.
Tip: choose a Thermal design under Settings → Invoice Setting if you use a receipt printer.
How do I sell on credit to a regular customer?
- In the Sale Invoice, pick the customer instead of walk-in.
- Enter only what they paid today in Paid Amount (or 0).
- Save. The rest is added to what they owe you.
- When they pay later, tap Payment on the Dashboard and record it against the customer.
How do I see today's sales at closing time?
Open the menu, then Reports → Daily Report. Sold Items shows which items sold and how many.
How do I check which items are running low?
Open the menu, then Reports → Stock Report. It lists the quantity in hand for every item.
How do I record shop expenses like rent and electricity?
- Tap Expense on the Dashboard.
- Choose the expense type, enter the amount and save.
- Add your own types (e.g. "Staff tea") under Manage → Expense Types.
Your monthly profit after expenses is in Reports → Profit and Loss.
