Example shop: a neighbourhood kiryana store. Rice, sugar and daal are sold loose by the kilo, oil and soap by the piece. Many families buy on khata (credit) and settle at the end of the month.
Do the Getting started steps first.

How do I sell rice or sugar by the kilo?
- Add the product with Measuring Unit set to Kilogram, and the price per kilo.
- On the invoice, type the weight in Qty, e.g. 2.5 for two and a half kilos.
I buy sugar in 50 kg bags. How do I enter that?
- Turn on Secondary Units.
- Open the product (unit: Kilogram) and tap Add Secondary Unit.
- Name it "Bag" and set Qty per Primary Unit to 50.
- When you buy, choose "Bag" on the purchase invoice. When you sell, choose Kilogram. Stock stays correct in kilos.
How do I keep a khata (credit account) for each family?
- Add each family under Manage → Customers. Put any old khata amount in Current Balance as Receivable.
- For each purchase, make a Sale Invoice with that customer and set Paid Amount to what they paid (often 0).
- At month end, tap Payment on the Dashboard to record what they pay.
- Send them their bill on WhatsApp from the invoice receipt.
How do I see the total khata of all customers?
The Dashboard shows it under You'll receive. For a list by customer, open Reports → Receivable / Payable.
How do I enter a bill from my supplier?
- Tap Purchase on the Dashboard.
- Pick the supplier, add the items and quantities, and enter what you paid.
- Save. Stock goes up, and anything unpaid is added to what you owe that supplier.
How do I record items that got spoiled?
Open the menu, then Transaction → Damaged Stock. Pick the item and quantity, and save. It is removed from your stock.
How do I know if the shop made a profit this month?
Open Reports → Profit and Loss and choose the month. It shows your sales, the cost of what you sold, your expenses and the profit left over.
